Frequently Asked Questions

Exactly what do Scott and Ed do?

They ask patients questions about symptoms, movement, and functional problems they have. With repeated movement testing and positioning, symptoms are monitored, and mechanical assessment is made. Based on the response of symptoms and movement, a mechanical strategy is created for the patient that consists of home exercise, positioning, therapist techniques, modalities and posturing.

What modalities and therapist techniques do Scott and Ed use?

They may occasionally need to use ultrasound, electrical stimulation, massage, mobilization, whirlpool, heat, cold and other techniques to help promote healing.

Do I need a physician referral to come to Summit Strength Physical Therapy?

Yes. For physical therapy services in the State of Missouri you need a physician, dentist or chiropractor to refer you to physical therapy.

Do I need a physician referral for strength and conditioning or personal training?

You should make sure your doctor feels it is safe for you to progress to more aggressive fitness activities.
